“Today's Textbooks, Tomorrow's Minds.“── Chambliss & Calfee（1988）
As Taiwan’s first textbook design competition, the School Textbooks Design Award encourages publishers to independently design and develop instructional materials. Its seamless integration with the School Textbooks Design Guidance Project facilitates interdisciplinary connections by leveraging design thinking to promote innovative services and applications. This approach links education and design industry chains to propel its sustainable development.
As the fundamental tools for childhood education, through textbooks, this Award aims to nurture an aesthetic sense in children. It envisions an ideal fusion of Taiwan’s educational and design forces to transform our daily lives in the transmission of knowledge and instructional assistance as well as to increase learning efficiency, motivation, and public awareness of aesthetics.
By visualizing future forms and appearances of textbooks, this Award invites everyone to join the educational designers in shaping a new vision for education, best empowered by design.
