Taiwan has a wide variety of geographical features and is located on one of the world's eight major bird migratory routes, with rich and unique ecological resources. There are 642 species of birds, including 27 endemic species and 56 endemic subspecies, in Taiwan; in fact, about one fifteenth of bird species on earth can be observed in Taiwan. Taipei International Birdwatching Fair, the world's second largest & Asia's largest birdwatching event, has been held for 19 years. The Fair encourages more people to get to know wild birds, appreciate them and learn to live with them in harmony.
