No. 69, Sec. 4, Ren-ai Rd., Da'an Dist., Taipei City Taiwan, R.O.C

This Zhejiang-Jiangsu style restaurant has earned its reputation on authentic glutinous rice dishes, from stir-fried rice cakes and Huzhou meat tamales (zong-zi) to fermented rice dumpling soup. The Huzhou tamales come in sweet (bean paste) and savory (pork) varieties. Chiu Ru is also considered to be the original source of sesame rice dumpling soup in Taiwan. Available in clear and fermented eggy soup varieties, this is a perfect dish to warm you up on a winter day.

A strange name for a great Shanghaiese restaurant in Taipei.

"To live long and unending good fortune Business location" is the literally translation of the Chinese name of this restaurant. It's a 30-40 years old restaurant on Re Ai road in Taipei city. This is according to my friend Maizie who has always frequent this place when she was a young child with her parents... The food is reasonable in a sense that it's located on the main road smack in the highest most expensive part of Taipei with clean and new décor serving authentic Shanghai delicacy. The menu is simple and the food is standard, not haute cuisine.. It's serves traditional food such as pork chop with vegetable rice and small dishes of appetizers of your choice at the help yourself counter. Staff are friendly. Note: they don't take reservation, and it's first come first serve basis. It's not a place for chat as once you finish eating, they will rush you away, so the next customer can be serve.....But hey, understandable because turnover is high and the food is good.

This is one of my favs !!! :)

Jiuru has been around for a very long time (ie: 40-50 years from what I heard from friends). I love coming to this restaurant for 1 thing...their rou cong (sticky rice with meat). The amount of meat has gotten smaller over the years...I've seen the old boss retire...and now it seems they have new management but the quality is still there ! I'm guessing the owners now are the original owners children. The food is very good...inexpensive and great tasting...service is so-so (not very happy looking) but food is good

    Okay traditional food

It is famous and busy most of the time. The service isn't the greatest but at least the food is quite decent. Three of us ordered rice dumpling, pork bittermelon soup, noodles, and its most popular sesame rice balls. I have been craving for sesame rice balls before I went to Taiwan. However, the sesame part is not enough so the flavour isn't as rich as I expected. Pork chop and bitter melon soup is great.

This is a small neighborhood restaurant close to East district and Jen-Ai Hospital. Established in 1960, they are famous for their rice dumpling and pickled veggie. They offer really simple and delicious family style cooking, such as fried rice and noodle soup. A quality quick bite to eat.
