Highly recommended
Been here many times and always very satisfied with the food and service. The elegant environment is already very well known so I highly recommend it for its beautiful food presentation and amazing staff! -

Some of the best Dim Sum and Beef Noodles I ever have
I got there before the crowd (around 11:15 am), got a chance to soak in the nice environment. Ordered shrimp roll - very crispy and not overly oily; beef noodle - good soap base, meat, noddle and unique vegetable pairing. -

Two sides to the this restaurant; book the PARK side
We planned a full day at the Museum and were pleased to learn that our day could include lunch at a noted restaurant right next door. While we enjoyed the meal of traditional delicacies, we were disappointed in the service and surroundings. We had made considerable effort to pre-book so we could enjoy our dining experience, but the receptionist couldn't be bothered to find our reservation and we were shoehorned into a back corner right beside the kitchen entrance on the street side of the restaurant. If you go, make a reservation before and be sure to book the PARK view side of the restaurant; this will provide the peaceful aesthetic needed to really enjoy the fine cuisine. -

Doesn't live up to the hype
I had read some rave reviews of Silks Palace and insisted we'd go here for a late lunch after our visit to the National Palace. It was a rainy day and the restaurant was not completely full, it was a little chilly inside too. Prices were considerably higher than what we'd experienced so far in Taipei, but I figured it would be worth it. I ordered the fried shrimp dish and my boyfriend went for the beef noodle soup. Our drinks (melon juice - not my best idea) arrived quite fast, and my boyfriend's soup followed. However my dish appeared to have been forgotten. It took an uncomfortably long time before our waitress noticed I still hadn't received any food, after which I witnessed some fussing and I suspect they went to check. Meanwhile I had already urged my boyfriend to just start eating. When my dish arrived it was no longer warm... Apart from this mishap, I also wasn't super impressed with the quality/taste. It was fine but not worth the gushing reviews. While we were having lunch some other diners had ordered the tea set. I do see the (instagram) appeal of those, very cute. So I'd recommend to go for tea and not lunch here. -

Fine dining
A Chinese fine dining restaurant located in the museum compound. We had course dinner with a good variety of delicacies served by attentive staff. The cabbage dish was decorated exactly as the exhibit in the museum!
