If someone ask where the center of Taipei's garment wholesale area is, it is believed that everyone's first response would be "Wufenpu", a place that hundreds of garment wholesale stores gather near Songshan Railway Station.

The Wufenpu shopping district originated from the gathering of early central and southern people who made a living in Taipei in Wufenpu. With the remaining rags or unsaleable fabrics of export clothing, they simply processed and sewn them into underwear, children's clothing or rough work clothes and provided them to roadside vendors and retail stores for sale, which gradually made the name of Wufenpu popular.

Hundreds of garment companies are gathering here. Inexpensive clothing attracts retail traders here to shop for wholesale or retail, and many young people also come to shop because of the wide varieties of styles and fashionable designs.

Wu Fen Pu now easy to get to via green line metro

Years ago I found Wufenpu clothing market with great difficulty, and got lost looking for it. This year, it was easy to find because they had extended the green metro line all the way there, which made it easy peasy. As well, the Raohe Night Market is just next door too off the same Songshan metro stop. To get to Wufenpu, you just walk straight from the metro stop exit, and enter into the market which becomes walking ‘streets’ within the block. Stores line both sides of ‘streets’ selling mostly clothing, although there were handbag, backpack, accessories stores. Display space is limited and stock is held mostly inside plastic bags on the floor. So you choose from what is displayed and the clerk rummages through the bags to find one for you. This clothing market is closed Mondays to the public so they can conduct international and local sales in bulk to put orders in. Tourists and locals love to shop here for clothing at excellent prices. There are a few food vendors who wheel carts around selling snacks but not many, as the Raohe food market is just next door anyhow. There is a wonderful park to relax in with a childrens' playground and temple too. Although I didn't need anything, both my friends did so much shopping at such great prices, that they couldn't carry any more. They loved shopping there. The market is so huge that you will not get through all of it in one day. We covered only a small section of the entire market, walking up and down the narrow streets.

    Lots of Clothes

Clothes, clothes and more clothes at bargain price. It is a shopping place for bargain clothes. The styles and quality is fair but you get what you pay for, it is not designer clothes. If you have the time, then it is fun to walk around but it is not a must see.

If you not a local, i don’t think you should go here for shopping. Its not cheap at all. I think this like they wholesale area. But if you interesting, you can go here by walking from raohe market.

    Expensive, one size fits all

I'm confused by the reviewers who say it's cheap,I don't find it cheap?Like 6 usd for Taiwan souvenir shirts each minimum? I saw this Korean blouse with frills and laces and they wanted to charge me 28 usd per blouse? i saw wool trenchcoats and it was like 92 usd? Pretty much same as European prices 🤣😅 what sucks the most is that it's one size fits all so if you're small or extra small (asian size) they look too big on you... Would look nice on Asian medium and tall girls though... Or super skinny girls. And they actually offered and proactively let me try it on? Like all the shops I went to insisted I try it on? Did I really go to wufenpu? Pretty sure I did 🤣 at least according to Google and the signs in the area. I visited around 8pm and it was sooo was a weekday too... I wonder why my experience is quite different from everyone else.? I prefer bangkok at it's cheaper hehe but i love the fashion there... It's more cutesy, frilly, lacy designs which is my aesthetic I guess 😆

    Not great options

Wufengpu Shopping District houses a ton of clothing stores. I thought it would be fun for the ladies, but it just doesn't have high quality clothes. Even the night markets have better quality.
