The 2022 Taipei Lantern Festival will be held at various venues across Shilin District between February 11 and 20. These include areas along Jihe Road, as well as Meilun Park and Shuangxi Riverside Park.
2022 Taipei Lantern Festival: Traffic Control Measures
The opening ceremony for the event is slated for February 12, between 7 PM and 8:30 PM. In light of the anticipated influx of visitors, the Taipei City Police Department (TCPD) has announced the following traffic control measures to ensure the safety of participants and maintain traffic flow in the vicinity:
 
  1. Roads:
    (a) February 12 (4 PM – 11 PM): The most exterior traffic line of northbound lanes along Jihe Road (From Jihe Road Lane 251 through Danan Road) will be closed to traffic.
    (b) Additional measures may be implemented for Jihe Road and surrounding thoroughfares based on the actual traffic and crowd volume during this period.
  2. Regulations for Bicycle Lanes:
    (a) February 11 – 20 (4 PM – midnight, daily): Shuagxi North Bank Riverside Bike Lane (between Shuangxi Bridge and Huangxi confluence) will be closed to bicycle and pedestrian traffic.
    (b) February 11 – 20 (4 PM – 11 PM, daily): Shuagxi North Bank Riverside Bike Lane (between Huangxi confluence and Shilin Bridge) will be closed to bicycle and pedestrian traffic.
    (c) February 11 – 20 (4 PM – 11 PM, daily): Shuagxi South Bank Riverside Bike Lane (between Shuangxi Bridge and Shilin Bridge) will be closed to bicycle traffic.
  3. Pedestrian Walkway Regulations:
    (a) February 11 (8:10 PM – 8:50 PM), February 12 (8:00 PM – 8:40 PM), February 19 (6:30 PM – 7:10 PM), and February 13 – 20 (7:30 PM – 8:10 PM, daily): The pedestrian trails on both sides of Shuangxi Bridge will be closed to foot traffic and loitering.
    (b) February 11 – 20 (4 PM – 11 PM, daily): Shuangxi North Bank Pedestrian Trail (between Huangxi confluence and Shilin Bridge) will be closed to foot traffic and loitering.
 
TCPD reminds the public that due to the temporary shutdown of roadside parking squares in the vicinity, those who want to visit the Taipei Lantern Festival should avoid driving and take public transportation instead.
